This never-completed nuclear power plant sprawls over near 2,000 acres, surrounded by the rolling green hills of central Tennessee. Originally intended to have 4 cores, the project was doomed by inaccurate forecasts of the power needs of the region. Construction stopped in the mid 1980s. Each of the four cores lies in a different stage of construction, from barely above the ground, to nearly complete. The incomplete structure is imposing and abstract, strictly designed for function and not for humans to inhabit.
